Maggiknits Fashion Show and Workshops with
Maggie Jackson
April 16 – 18, 2008

 

Maggie Jackson is returning to Norwood Park!  The award-winning international knitwear designer and author of Maggie’s Ireland, will revisit the Woolly Lamb Yarn Studio at 6007 N. Nina Avenue in Chicago’s historic Norwood Park community.  Once again she will host a fashion show and two new knitting workshops April 16 – 18, 2008

Here is an opportunity for those of you who missed her earlier events to meet Maggie and see her gorgeous designs.  For our Maggie fans there will be new garments to see, and again a “show and tell” for those who have started or finished their Maggiknits projects.

After the fashion show you will again be able to try on any of the garments of her collection, and, as always, receive fashion and color advice.

Maggie’s workshops are as exclusive and timeless as the many designs that make Maggiknits a fashion wear leader.  During her 5-hour workshops Maggie personally guides you through the various steps that make Maggiknits unique.  You will leave the workshops thinking ‘outside the box’ with your knitting.  All this combined with Maggie’s warm personality, Irish charm, and great storytelling ability will make her visit an experience
everyone will remember.

Workshop I
“From Spain to Ireland”
Matadors, flamenco dancers, and rows upon rows of olive trees?Maggie shows how Spanish influences inspired her new stitches. Discover what you can create just by looking around you. Work samples in 2-colored frilled tubes, coloured bobbles, twisted split, and picot tubes, then use your pieces in a shawl, pillow, purse, wall hanging, or as attachments to a sweater. Think outside the box! Materials fee: $20 for a yarn pack.

Workshop II
“So You Thought You Knew Maggiknits”
New ideas and designs with the tube technique--waving, 2-color flowering, overlapping, bowing, to name a few. The class project can be a purse, pillow, or a shawl.
